- 6-8 mushrooms
- 2 handfuls of baby spinach
- 1 cup of cream
- Pasta of your choice
Method:
-
Prep and Sauté:
- Chop the onion, bacon, and garlic. Sauté them in oil over medium heat until they start to brown.
- Add 1 tablespoon of Hoot Neat Heat Smoked Chilli Sauce ️ for that smoky kick.
-
Cook the Pasta:
- Boil your chosen pasta according to the package instructions.
-
Add Mushrooms:
- Slice the mushrooms and add them to the pan. Sauté for about 10 minutes until they turn golden. Add a splash of water if they start to stick.
-
Make it Creamy:
- Pour in 1 cup of cream and reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for another 5-10 minutes.
- Stir in the baby spinach and season with salt and pepper.
-
Adjust and Combine:
- Taste the sauce and add more Hoot Neat Heat Smoked Chilli Sauce if you want extra heat.
- If the sauce is too thick, add a little pasta water to ensure it coats the pasta evenly.
-
Serve:
- Mix the pasta with the sauce in the pan.
- Top with a generous amount of grated Parmesan cheese.
Notes:
- Balancing Flavours: Adjust the amount of Hoot Neat Heat Smoked Chilli Sauce to your spice preference. Start with 1 tablespoon and add more if desired.
- Cooking Pasta: Save some pasta water before draining. This starchy water can help adjust the sauce consistency.
- Ingredient Freshness: Use fresh baby spinach for the best texture. If using frozen spinach, thaw and drain excess water before adding.
- Cream Substitutes: For a lighter version, substitute cream with half-and-half or milk. You can also use a dairy-free alternative if needed.
