Creamy Hoot Pasta with Mushrooms, Bacon & Spinach

This Creamy Hoot Pasta with Mushrooms, Bacon & Spinach is a flavour-packed dish that combines the smoky heat of Hoot Neat Heat Smoked Chilli Sauce with savoury bacon, earthy mushrooms, and fresh spinach. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or a cosy weekend meal, this recipe is sure to become a household favourite!

Servings: 2 people

Ingredients:

  • 1 large onion
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1-2 tablespoons of Hoot Neat Heat Smoked Chilli Sauce ️
  • 6 rashers of bacon
  • 6-8 mushrooms
  • 2 handfuls of baby spinach
  • 1 cup of cream
  • Pasta of your choice

Method:

  1. Prep and Sauté:

    • Chop the onion, bacon, and garlic. Sauté them in oil over medium heat until they start to brown.
    • Add 1 tablespoon of Hoot Neat Heat Smoked Chilli Sauce ️ for that smoky kick.
  2. Cook the Pasta:

    • Boil your chosen pasta according to the package instructions.
  3. Add Mushrooms:

    • Slice the mushrooms and add them to the pan. Sauté for about 10 minutes until they turn golden. Add a splash of water if they start to stick.
  4. Make it Creamy:

    • Pour in 1 cup of cream and reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for another 5-10 minutes.
    • Stir in the baby spinach and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Adjust and Combine:

    • Taste the sauce and add more Hoot Neat Heat Smoked Chilli Sauce if you want extra heat.
    • If the sauce is too thick, add a little pasta water to ensure it coats the pasta evenly.
  6. Serve:

    • Mix the pasta with the sauce in the pan.
    • Top with a generous amount of grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes:

  • Balancing Flavours: Adjust the amount of Hoot Neat Heat Smoked Chilli Sauce to your spice preference. Start with 1 tablespoon and add more if desired.
  • Cooking Pasta: Save some pasta water before draining. This starchy water can help adjust the sauce consistency.
